Aardvark Engineering produce powered specialist Tape applicators and laminators capable of applying tape to virtually any profile and material. Our applicator rollers can place tape smoothly on up to 4 sides of a profile at once and can be adjustable for angle faces. 'Laminators for widths of up to 2 metres have been manufactured.
High speed spot and strip taping machines
Our latest PLC controlled high speed spot and strip taping machine is specifically built to supply the needs of the packaging industry.
This tape machine is fitted to a Bobst Starfold gluing machine and will run at speeds of around 60 metres per minute dependant upon tape quality and tension control tape delivery.
We can retro fit this head to most machines and if required supply the full production machinery with the tape machine included ready to run for your taping and folding process.

This machine was fed from a bobbin tape feed system for maximum running time and good tension control. Tape break is monitored to ensure that the operator is alerted with production stopped to avoid scrap and also when the tape about to run out.

We supply our own PLC programmer unit with these heads using a Mitsubishi PLC (Or to choice) and operator commands and information are by the HMI panel (Touch screen) as below. Total control of tape stop and start position, tab length and operator alarms are easily set from the HMI panel.

The example machine shown here was built to satisfy customer requirements for applying tape to an edge finisher. The product was previously packed by hand in cellophane.
This automated tape applicator gives better protection to the product and the tape is only removed after securing on site saving surface damage during the fitting operation.
This machine is totally versatile and will accommodate widths up to 100 mm by changing the tape roll and adjusting the side guides and pressure spring.
Speed can be made variable by the fitment of an inverter drive.
Tape alignment and tension is easily set with our own special Mikrotrak tape tension and alignment units which are easily set with the turn of a knob. Customers easily achieve excellent taped finish without wrinkles and bubbles.
